A patient-centric approach

Alongside a physical transformation project that will see the world-reknown eye hospital depart its Old Street home and move into a new location near St. Pancras, a digital transformation was also needed to better align the organisation's online presence with the needs of patients — both NHS and private — and healthcare professionals.

CDS were chosen to help Moorfields achieve this digital transformation with a multi-stage approach that would deliver the new vision for Moorfields' online offering over an extended period.

The initital project focused on a redesign of the main Moorfields website and that of Moorfields Private Healthcare site, migrating the site to a new CMS and restructuring the content so that content could be shared between the two sites, while at the same time ensuring that they were not competing against each other for search rankings.

The redesign was a user-centred approach and focused around making better connections between 3 key content areas: conditions, consultants and locations, so that patients could follow their own path in terms of learning about their condition, understanding their treatment, and planning their hospital appointments.
